2nd Edition: Social Sunday Fashion Brunch

The 2nd Edition of Social Sunday Fashion Brunch themed “Elevated Elegance” was held on Sunday July 3rd at the Social House and was proudly sponsored by ABSA bank and Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Brunch is curated by Connie Aluoch Award winning Stylist and Nation Fashion Columnist in partnership with The Social House. to promote the “Made in Kenya” #BuyKenyaBuildKenya initiative.

In attendance was Absa Bank led by Grace Muamba- Regional Manager and Andrew Awilly- SME Cluster manager, Julius Opio Chairperson of KNCCI Nairobi, Ann Mutahi Advisor to the President on SME Development and Lorenza Gambacorta the Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy.

In line with creative sustainability designers showcase and sell their collections during the Brunch and thereafter selected pieces are sold at the Social Retail Store, E-Commerce and TV Platforms. This give the  designers access to local consumers,  international travellers and business community that stay at the hotel.

Designers who showcased at the 2nd Edition were:

  1. IKOJN  by Christine Njoki. Ikojn is the  complete epitome of sensual femininity and ladylike strength. It focuses on leaving the wearer feeling soft and strong and at the same time playing on their feminism with a balance between soft and hard. 
  2. SAO SARTORIAL- By Sydney Owino is a brand is not dedicated to any one particular style, but rather sartorial excellence.
  3. PINK SAVANNAH by Glena Jiwani  jewellery  is ethically made handcrafted Afro Asian  jewellery brand that sources for locally and eco-friendly materials and is inspired by the incredible culture, nature and historical architecture of Africa.
  4. KOBE AFRIKA by Rizwan Jiwami  Handmade wooden sunglasses for women and men with ethically sourced local wood for the Afro Urban fashion lover.
